One climactic boss fight later, Zeus casts him down, so that he can do the exact same thing in God of War III. He spends the rest of the game climbing Mount Olympus to confront Zeus. Kratos made it all of 15 minutes into God of War II before Zeus stripped away his powers and set him on a quest for revenge. Or perhaps only until the game sold like hotcakes and Sony decided to make a sequel.
